Blogs of Fellow Travelers - What I love about them

Like I mentioned in my previous posting, there are 206 countries in the world, and I know that I may not be able to visit all the countries. Even if I could, I couldn't go to every single city in those countries and try all the interesting events and food. Instead, I can read other travelers' blogs. They all have their own very interesting stories which allow me to travel around the world vicariously. Besides, some of them traveled to the same place I've been to, and they experienced and felt totally different things from what I experienced and felt. That's why I love to read other bloggers' travel stories even more. Here are some of the great travel blogs I've found.

1. Thirteen Months
http://www.thirteenmonths.com/

This is a blog run by a couple who decided to travel around the world for their honeymoon. I like the fact that they have a cat in their house in California, and that they travel with a tight budget, so their travel stories will be helpful for travlers who don't have much money. Their trip went on for 384 days, and they traveled to 29 countries. They tried to stay in one country for at least one month, which I think is a great idea.

This blog is also run by a couple, Dan and Audrey. I like this blog for so many reasons. Their pictures are great. Their blog is well-organized. The articles are arranged by country and by topic. But what I like most is this sentence I found in their introductory post.  "They travel deep and off-beat, aiming to connect the world through people, food and adventure."
Check their "Make Me Hungry" channel. You can find articles about food and markets from around the world, which is my favorite topic.

I cound't help but like this blog because the first picture I saw on this blog was that of "Lay's." The chips! When I first traveled to England, I tasted Lay's Salt and Vinegar for the first time. It was new to me, and I loved it. I still like Salt and Vinegar flavor the most. I also like the fact that the blogger is a teacher, so she also writes about ESL student life stories and cultural differences.

4. We Blog The World

This is a great blog to get useful travel information about almost all countries in the world. It is more of a travel magazine rather than an individual's blog. They offer information on events and festivals around the world as well as hotel reviews. As their blog title says, they "blog the WORLD!"

This is a blog of a young lady who traveled to Spain when she was 16 and now travels to many countries while living and teaching English in Spain. Spain! Yes. My name "Cancion" shows my desire to learn Spanish and someday live in Spain. Here I can find postings about traveling in Spain as well as some useful Spanish expressions.

These are all really good blogs, so why don't you visit them and travel around the world? What country do you want to start with?

  1. That is interesting Cancion!

Your blog and the other blogs of its kind really makes us experience different cultures and atmospheres. If I plan to travel to somewhere, I definitely will surf those blogs.

When I was a child, I always dreamed of traveling to a couple of countries. Now, I am planning to start my visits going to Japan. Could you please give some insight into Japan and suggest me some "great" places to visit?

Thank you again Cancion! I really enjoyed this entry!

    1. Thank you for visiting my blog and reading my posts. I am so happy that you are planning a trip to Japan. I've been to Japan only twice, once to Tokyo, the capital of Japan, and once to Yufuin.
Yufuin is such a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery, but Tokyo is also a great city to visit since you can enjoy various kinds of things there. Wherever you go, I think you will love their food like I did!

  2. Cancion! You have succeeded in making me even more curious both about travel and travel blogs! You found such GOOD ones! Thanks for sharing and writing about them so clearly! Since I am an ESL teacher, I find "Around the World with L" fascinating! She has done such a great job!

The images you chose to go along with each blog succeeded in drawing me into reading about that blog!

Thank you! I look forward to reading more as you continue to write new blog entries!

    1. Here is the traduccion:

Man: What part of I’m bussy you haven’t understood.
Mam: I’m sorry it has arrived an urgent package
      Man: Urgent¡ Who send it.
      Mam: You. Twenty years ago.
      Man: Tahnks

      Guy: What¡ Surprised?
I’m sure that you don’t remember. If you are watching this is because it has pass twenty years.
I hope we haven’t lost hair or gain weigh. Like I know you and I know me and I know that we could forget some things that we have learnt this summer I decided to make this video to remind you.
Remember that was a time that we where travelers, not turist. That we guided by curiosity and not for a book. And we didn’t need reserves (alcohol) to have a great night, and you know it.
If you are happy turn off this video. Ei¡ you still there.
Aiii, the future, we married her. No, I don’t think so. And… you take out my earing, that’s ok, after all you are old.
But remember that we always had time to have new friends. And to learn, learn that there was a time that all the world said: “It’s not possible”, and the illusion of a country demonstrated that the world was wrong.
And Above all remember that live is a succession of moments and depend of you how to live them.
Whenever you will be in 20 years, ok, whenever we will in 20 years remember when we came to Peru.
      Men: Darling
      Telephone: You come late no?
Men: Have you ever been in peru?

    2. I've just watched the video... and it's amazing! I want to leave for Peru, now!! I think it's a really well made video.

I thought you'd like traveling. I think I am also a traveler rather than a tourist. I bet you had a wonderful time in Africa. Will you tell me about your trip to Africa some time? And of course, a lot about Spain! I've been to most of the West European countries, but I haven't got a chance to visit Spain. My next destination in Europe will definitely be Spain. So, maybe you can tell me where I should go in Spain (besides Castilla) and what food I should try. :)
